School of Medicine scientists have uncovered a new way the immune system may fight cancers and viral infections, and the finding could aid efforts to use immune cells to treat illness. The study, published in eLife, disproves the theory that all natural killer cells roam the body to provide the first line of defense against cancers and viruses.

The number of women and minorities on corporate boards has remained static in the last 10 years, despite an increasing amount of data supporting the argument that board diversity is related to good business outcomes. “Businesses have a significant opportunity to improve performance through increasing the diversity” said, Hillary Sale, JD, professor of law.
